How is solar panel work? simply put a solar panel works by allowing photons or particles of light to knock electrons free from atoms generating a flow of electricity. solar panels actually comprise many smaller units called photovoltaic cells. this all adds up to an electric field at the junction between the silicon layers. What is an inverter used for? An inverter converts the DC electricity from sources such as batteries or fuel cells to AC electricity.
