In today’s education news 🏫 The DfE has announced that all teachers and school staff will receive SEND and inclusion training. For many parents and teachers, this will feel long overdue. The job has changed, pupils’ needs have changed, and training hasn’t always kept pace. Most teachers want to support children properly, they just haven’t always been given the tools. After reading through the white paper today I think many of us are feeling quite broken. Once again we must fight to give our children an education and for so many of you that have fought years for an EHCP, you are now facing the possibility of it being removed. EhCPs will remain for the ones with the highest needs but who are those children and who will get to decide this? There is no scale from mild to severe = thats not how it works! Yes, mainstreams need to be better but let's be honest here = mainstream will never suit many children. We need smaller class sizes, sensory rooms, lifts and hoists, teachers for deaf students, speech and language therapists, black out rooms, safety equipment, nappy changing facilities....the list goes on and on and a SEND provision (a room) in a mainstream school is not going to cover this. Where are more SEND schools that us parents have been asking over and over for? This just isn't good enough and the knock on effect to this will be more pupils with EBSA, more teachers leaving and more parents forced to home educate. These of course, are my thoughts on the situation. How is everyone else feeling? #whitepaper #seneducation #EHCP #sensupport #dfe

Nearly half don’t consistently feel an adult in school really cares about them But, for me, this isn’t a kid problem. It’s a conditions problem. Young people want to learn. The system just isn’t helping them.

Government plans to strip the Special Educational Needs Tribunal of its most significant powers are non-negotiable, the Gazette have revealed , after a government response showed it will not consider feedback on this critical aspect of its SEND reforms. The Department for Education (DfE) appears to have reached final decisions on important parts of its reforms to change the law and support related to SEND two months before a consultation on the controversial changes closes. The admission came in a Government Legal Department response to a letter before claim challenging the lawfulness of the consultation. The response is at odds with education secretary Bridget Phillipson’s insistence last week in a Facebook reel that ‘the consultation is our way to make sure we’re hearing your views before any final decisions are made’. The consultation closes on 18 May. But they don’t care what we have to say! They have made their mind up already 🤬

The Uk’s Department for Education is sponsoring to train international students to become teachers in the UK 🇬🇧 Tuition fee for this programme is fully covered by the DFE. So, that’s means you are paying £0 in school fees It’s a 1year programme and you only need your undergraduate degree and a good WAEC with atleast a C in maths , English , and any science subject to be eligible to apply. You won’t need to write IELTS if you have these. And depending on your degree qualifications, you will receive tax free monthly stipend to support living expenses. £5,000- first class £4,000- 2:1 £2,000 2:2 No tuition fee ✅ Monthly allowance ✅ You can also bring your dependants! This how I relocated from Nigeria to the UK in 2025 and I have also helped so many people get offers on this programme this year.
