MAThe big question I get from non working parents.. wouldn't it be the same cost to just stay home?
For some - yes... for others - no.
Why do we do it here? Because both my partner and I value our careers and the balance it provides. The heavy costs of childcare will subside and in the years that we do foot the bill, we are (hopefully) growing my career simultaneously.
Does that mean you can't step away to raise your babies and come back to a thriving career? Absolutely not! Everyone's path is different and my path is one as a working mom.

SODoes anyone else’s daughter get mistaken for a boy, even when she’s dressed head to toe in pink? 😅 Looking back at Camis’ newborn outfits, she hardly had any pink at all we mostly went for neutral or bright colors like yellow, red, and green. And honestly, when they’re so tiny, without pierced ears or bows on their heads, it’s really hard to tell if they’re a girl or a boy.
As she got older, it’s funny to see how much society influenced us. We started putting her in pink shoes, then adding a pink hat, and little by little, we felt the need to “signal” that she’s a girl… just to avoid constant corrections in public. It’s not that it mattered much to us, but somehow it became easier.
Even now, people still sometimes assume she’s a boy, which makes me realize that maybe colors really don’t matter as much as we think. Boys wear pink too, after all! Writing this makes me appreciate that what really matters is what we, as parents, enjoy dressing our kids in and ultimately, whatever they choose to wear themselves in the future 🥰
