The federal government has not passed the necessary funding (due to the 2025 United States federal government shutdown), the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has said that SNAP benefits may not be able to be issued for November 2025. Several states have already publicly warned recipients that they may not receive their SNAP allotment in November unless funding is restored. Finance Monthly The USDA has told state agencies to pause the transmission of benefit files for November because of insufficient funds. It is confirmed that October benefits are still being distributed (or will be) under existing allocations. But beyond that, benefits are at risk. This is causing extreme pressure on families and working individuals and other routes might be taken by many recipients directly or indirectly.
