KASome things you cannot prepare for. I’m really a rollercoaster of emotions over here. I am so proud of my kids. Both girls had their graduation yesterday. It was such a wonderful day.
Seeing one graduate from preschool (although she’s got another year) and then one graduate from high school it’s this weird fun house type of perspective of just how fast it flies by. How did Bridget get so old so fast!? Wasn’t she just Beverly’s age?
Bring a mom is a trip. You raise these people, and you think it’s about you teaching them the ways of the world-you’re the adult after all. When really it’s about them teaching you to be a better person. They teach you patience, different ways to think, different ways to go about the world all while being your tiny little best friends and growing up before your very eyes.
The hard days feel like months…the good days feel like seconds. And above all you just want to freeze time, or do those weird slow motion dream style tempos and make everything last longer-move at a molasses speed. I want to rewind time and have Bridget’s tiny hand grab mine to cross the street-and I want Beverly to be independent and learn and grow. I want very contradicting things at the moment. I don’t even make sense to myself.
Above all…being a mom is quite possibly the very best thing I’ve ever done in my life. It has been the greatest joy. It has been the hardest thing I’ve done or do…(I’m still in the thick of it).
My 4 year old is getting impatient with me and so I’ll wrap this up but I wanted to just jot down some feelings and thoughts down for myself…and let you mamas know I’m rooting for you and you’re doing a great job and you’re got this.
Those tiny hands making messes will be changing over their tassels on their graduation caps in a blink of an eye.

you finish uni
you’re applying to everything
and every “entry level” job wants 2 years experience
so you end up stuck
overqualified on paper
but still can’t get your foot in the door
that’s why so many grads are so hungry right now
they just want a real opportunity
and this is exactly where tech sales comes in
because these companies actually hire for potential
not just experience
if you can communicate well
think on your feet
and you’re willing to learn…
you can land an entry level role and be earning £65k to £85k in your first year
not after 5 years
not after another qualification
literally year one
it’s just not something universities tell you about
so people stay stuck thinking their degree “didn’t work”
when really… they’ve just been looking in the wrong places
if you’re a grad and you’re tired of applying with no results
there is another route
