IB 4 STUDENTS
The second material gets challenging, you give up. You blame excuses, blame the teacher, the syllabus, anyone but yourself. You avoid difficult concepts entirely and then wonder why your grades never improve. Newsflash: you’re not failing because you’re dumb. You’re failing because you quit.
IB 5-6 STUDENTS
You don’t give up, I’ll give you that. You grind through the struggle. You reread textbooks for hours. You jump straight into past papers thinking practice makes perfect.
But here’s the truth: textbooks don’t work. You’re not retaining information, just understanding it (which is not the same thing). So when exam day comes, you lose marks on key words from the markscheme because you never actually memorized them. And jumping straight into past papers? Useless. MEHow do you expect to get 7s in English if you do not even know where you’re making mistakes?
Most teachers give useless feedback.
“Not detailed.”
“Please elaborate.”
“Explain more.”

NEThe unofficial IBDP past-paper archive known as “IB Docs” has gone offline in what students describe as its longest shutdown in recent years — less than two months before May exams.
The site, which is not affiliated with the International Baccalaureate (IB), hosts copyrighted exam papers and mark schemes without authorization. Because the IB owns the intellectual property to its assessments, redistribution can trigger copyright complaints and domain suspensions — especially as exam season approaches.
Reddit threads show M26 and M27 students scrambling for mirror links and debating whether to download 17GB compressed backups before more sites disappear. While similar outages have happened “like clockwork” in past years, many say this disruption feels longer and more widespread.
For many candidates, past papers are central to revision — making the timing of the shutdown particularly significant.

NEBREAKING: IB exams have officially been cancelled worldwide due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
For the first time in the history of the International Baccalaureate, all May session exams are not going ahead, affecting over 170,000 students across more than 150 countries.
Instead of written examinations, the IB is awarding grades using a combination of internal assessments, coursework, predicted grades, and historical school data. The organisation says this approach ensures results are “fair, robust and consistent” despite the unprecedented disruption to schooling.
The decision follows months of school closures, lockdowns, and unequal access to online learning, with the IB stating that holding exams would be neither safe nor equitable for students globally.
However, the move has sparked widespread debate. Students are worried about grade inflation, algorithm bias, and university recognition, while teachers have raised concerns about how accurately predicted grades can reflect final performance.
Universities have been told to treat 2020 IB results as fully valid, but many students fear they are being assessed on circumstances beyond their control.
