A massive constitutional showdown has erupted in West Bengal. On Jan 8, CM Mamata Banerjee personally intervened in an ongoing Enforcement Directorate (ED) raid at the I-PAC office (TMC’s political consultancy).

1️⃣ The Raid: ED was raiding I-PAC chief Pratik Jain’s office/home in connection with a "Coal Smuggling Case."
2️⃣ The Intervention: CM Mamata Banerjee arrived with the Kolkata Police Commissioner. ED alleges she "forcibly removed" digital evidence (Laptops/Hard Disks) from the scene.

PAकोलकाता में प्रवर्तन निदेशालय (ED) ने राजनीतिक रणनीति से जुड़ी संस्था I-PAC (Indian Political Action Committee) के दफ्तर पर छापेमारी की। इसी कार्रवाई के तहत I-PAC के प्रमुख प्रतीक जैन के आवास पर भी तलाशी ली गई।
बताया जा रहा है कि यह कार्रवाई कोयला तस्करी से जुड़े मनी लॉन्ड्रिंग मामले की जांच के सिलसिले में की गई। छापे के दौरान दस्तावेज़ों और डिजिटल डेटा की जांच की गई।
कार्रवाई की खबर मिलते ही पश्चिम बंगाल की मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी खुद मौके पर पहुंचीं और उन्होंने केंद्रीय एजेंसी की इस कार्रवाई पर सवाल उठाए। ममता बनर्जी ने आरोप लगाया कि यह कदम राजनीतिक दबाव और चुनावी रणनीति से जुड़ी जानकारी हासिल करने की कोशिश हो सकता है।
इस पूरे घटनाक्रम के बाद राज्य की राजनीति में हलचल तेज हो गई है और केंद्र बनाम राज्य की सियासत एक बार फिर आमने-सामने नजर आ रही है।
फिलहाल ED की जांच जारी है और आधिकारिक बयान का इंतजार किया जा रहा है।
