Even if you don’t consciously know your ancestry, cultural sounds can resonate. Bagpipes have a VERY distinctive modal scale, drone, wail like tone that the brain identifies with ceremony, loss, remembrance, pride & endurance…SO if you have Scottish ancestors (even generations back) it’s entirely plausible that those sounds were present at key moments in YOUR families history triggering those instinctive feelings. Cultural memory doesn’t require conscious recall to place a person where they belong.
