Drac is concerned because Dennis, approaching his fifth birthday, isn’t showing any signs of becoming a vampire (like growing fangs). Mavis, seeing the potential dangers of Transylvania for a human child, begins considering moving their family to Johnny’s hometown in California. While Mavis and Johnny visit California, Drac takes Dennis on a “monster-in-training” boot camp with his monster friends (Frankenstein, Wayne the Werewolf, the Invisible Man, and Murray the Mummy). Their plan is to scare the vampire out of Dennis, but it doesn’t work. Things get complicated when Drac’s old-school, human-hating father, Vlad, decides to pay a surprise visit to the hotel and discovers that his great-grandson is not a “pure blood” and that humans are now welcome at Hotel Transylvania.
