Awareness is the first step to sovereignty. So many of these thoughts used to run on autopilot for me. Some of them I didn’t even recognize as thoughts—just background noise my nervous system assumed was truth. But even when we don’t fully believe them, they still shape our energy. They still guide our choices. They still hold us back. The shift happens when we catch the thought in real time and rewire it right then and there. That moment of pause? That’s where the healing begins. That’s where true growth lives. Here are some journal prompts to identify where you might have some old patterns running on autopilot ✨Where am I outsourcing my worth? (To productivity, appearance, approval?) What does it feel like to reclaim that worth as already mine? ✨When I catch an old pattern or belief, how can I meet it with compassion instead of judgment? ✨What does the sovereign version of me believe? Say? Do? How can I anchor into her voice more often? When we begin to shift the untrue stories running beneath the surface, we shift our energy—and with it, our capacity for connection and groundedness. What unconscious beliefs have been playing in the background of your mind? I have so much more understanding for what my parents went through.” Or, the grief route sounds something like “Looking at this angel of a human being just reiterates how much I can’t believe how I was treated as a kid. I could never do to my child what my parents did to me.” And of course, there are scenarios where we connect with both. To be in the shoes of someone else will reveal something to us. What it reveals has a lot to do with your story. One is not more right than the other. Just information that leads you down a path. Here’s how to start shifting the pattern: 👇 Step-by-step guide to rewire emotional overreactions rooted in trauma 👇 ⸻ STEP 1: Understand the Root What you call “overreacting” is often a trauma response. You’re not weak. You’re wired to detect danger—even when it’s no longer there. 💭 Reframe: “This feels big because of what I’ve lived through.” ⸻ STEP 2: Name the Trigger When you feel overwhelmed, pause. Ask yourself: “What am I really reacting to?” Is it rejection? Disrespect? Silence? Control? These often echo emotional injuries from the past.
