I spent years eliminating foods, white-knuckling my way through meals, and wondering why nothing was getting better even though I was “doing everything right.” The problem was never the tomato. The problem was that no one explained what was actually happening in my body. Acid reflux — whether it’s GERD or LPR — is a barrier problem. Your lower esophageal sphincter — the muscle that keeps stomach contents where they belong — isn’t broken. It’s under-supported. And restriction alone doesn’t fix that. All these throat symptoms made my life hell. It wasn’t always a sharp burn… Sometimes it was just this constant discomfort… like something stuck in my throat?? That feeling made me so cranky… and honestly, hopeless. 50+ doctors… dozens of diagnoses… post nasal drip, allergies, everything you can think of… And then finally… Barrett’s. Severe inflammation in my throat (I was scared to deathh that I am gonna get cancer next 🥲!! waiting for my biopsy felt like forever! But thankfully it was just Barrett’s) That’s when I learned something no one had properly explained to me before… It’s not just acid. It’s also this stupid enzyme called pepsin. Pepsin literally breaks down protein. It belongs in your stomach… not your throat. But once it gets up there, it keeps damaging the lining… even when acid isn’t high. And what did doctors give me? Omeprazole… antacids… While I kept searching for the real solution. It came down to two things 👇 1: Deactivate pepsin in the throat 2: Stop it from reaching there in the first place Deactivating it is actually simple… I’ve shared a quick way in the pinned comment. But that’s temporary. You still have to fix the reflux. And that took work. A lot of it. Common culprits include: • Chronic gastritis (inflammation of the stomach lining) • Acid suppression (long-term antacid/PPI use) • Malabsorption conditions like celiac disease • Inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn’s, ulcerative colitis) • H. pylori infections • Frequent GI irritation or poor gut integrity When your gut isn’t functioning well, you can’t absorb iron properly—no matter how much you take. Die Bilder und Nachrichten, die uns seit über einer Woche von dort erreichen, sind nur schwer zu ertragen und machen mich sehr betroffen. Das sieht und hört man auch in meiner Rede und ich habe auch lange überlegt, ob ich diesen Ausschnitt hier wirklich mit euch teilen will.
