Joshua Maponga uses a shocking analogy to blast African leaders who give up their nations’ wealth to foreign powers. The firebrand author says they’re like drunk women who allow their treasures to be exploited by unscrupulous sober men. Although he slates Cameroon’s 92-year-old President Paul Biya, Maponga warns it’s a worldwide problem. #Maponga #colonialism #AfricaWakeUp #Cameroon #Congo #DRC #PanAfricanism #JoshuaMaponga #PanAfricanist #Biya #PaulBiya #Macron #Venezuela #Maduro #neocolonialism #imperialism

Joshua Maponga labels Africa’s millionaire politicians “thieves” and deplores corruption on the continent. But there are reasons to be optimistic. Revolutionary leaders like Burkina Faso’s Ibrahim Traoré offer hope by nationalising key sectors and reclaiming Africa’s resources from foreign control, for the benefit of the country. Similar things have happened in Mali and Niger. The question is, will other nations follow them? #Maponga #Africans #corruption #Traoré BurkinaFaso #Kenya

Renowned thought leader Joshua Maponga has sparked important conversations around Africa’s future by calling on the African diaspora to take an active role in investing back into the continent. He highlights Africa’s vast untapped potential across natural resources, industrialization, innovation, and infrastructure, stressing that sustainable growth must be driven by Africans themselves. Joshua Maponga is challenging the idea that Africans are separate people based on modern borders, languages, or national identities. He argues that historically, African communities were deeply connected through migration, shared ancestry, and cultural systems — especially totems, which he says are more meaningful than surnames. His main point: Africans are not as divided as they think — they’ve just lost awareness of their shared identity. Zimbabwean-born political commentator and Pan-African voice Joshua Maponga delivers a sharp, uncompromising take on global finance and Africa’s future in this clip. He breaks down what he sees as a two-tier lending system, where Western nations access low-interest capital while African countries face higher rates, deeper risk, and long-term debt pressure. Maponga argues that this imbalance doesn’t just shape economies, it shapes politics, sovereignty, and who ultimately holds power over land, resources, and leadership. Turning to the continent’s heavyweights, he highlights how Nigeria and South Africa often compete with each other rather than combining their weight, a rivalry he suggests weakens Africa’s collective leverage on the world stage. While Maponga focuses on that competition, he also argues that their combined potential could tell another story. As two of Africa’s largest economies and both members of BRICS, Nigeria and South Africa have a major opportunity to shift from rivalry to coordination, using that platform to push for fairer financial systems, alternative development financing, and stronger South–South trade ties. Acting together in spaces like BRICS could amplify Africa’s voice in global economic forums and strengthen the continent’s negotiating power. #PanAfrican #JoshuaMaponga #Africa #Debt #BRICS

Imagine a modern world guided by ancient African wisdom. Joshua Maponga explores the profound legacy of the continent’s science and agriculture; a brilliance often silenced by historical narratives. By framing colonization as an interruption of African mastery rather than its starting point, he calls on us to rebuild using our own indigenous systems. 📹 @africaby_africans #JoshuaMaponga #ALKEBULAN #AfricaChroniclesHLCH

"LISTEN, LEARN, REPEAT; IN THAT ORDER" - WL. MORRIS 2020 @hustlemocollectibles @empstateofgrind @hmrradio ❤️ 🖤 💚 GOTTA LOVE THIS.... ❤️ 🖤 💚 WHERE I'M FROM 'WE' SAY - "ALWAYS REMEMBER" ❤️ 🖤 💚 #Repost @spearhead_af —— Africa Needs Development, Not Democracy In this February 2026 interview with The Narrative Network, Zimbabwean author, educator and Pan-Africanist Joshua Maponga sheds light on the reality of “democracy” in Africa, how the colonially imposed charade serves only to hinder development on the continent, and how the parasitic Western nations that imposed this charade on the continent are only too willing to set it aside when it comes to protecting their own interests. Between the United States’s National Endowment for Democracy (NED) and the European Union’s Neighbourhood, Development and International Cooperation Instrument (NDICI)-Global Europe, the West spends hundreds of millions of dollars annually in Africa to “support democracy”. But what is the West really supporting? Why do the so-called “flaws” of democracy in Africa always seem to benefit Western powers? And what do the ongoing developments in Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso have to teach the rest of the continent about what Western-approved “democracy” really is and what purpose it really serves? Since forming the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) in 2024 and abandoning the brand of “democracy” tailor-made for Africa by the West, Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso have seen rapid social, economic and political progress, while facing relentless attacks by Western-backed terrorists, economic isolation and sovereignty violations by Western-aligned African states, and endless slander from Western and Western-aligned media. It is left to the people of Africa to draw the obvious conclusion. I DO NOT OWN THE RIGHTS TO THIS CONTENT.
