Peter Parker is a lonely high school student still haunted by the mysterious disappearance of his parents. Raised by his Aunt May and Uncle Ben, Peter discovers a briefcase belonging to his father that leads him to Oscorp and to brilliant scientist Curt Connors.
While sneaking around Oscorp, Peter is bitten by a genetically engineered spider. He soon develops superhuman strength, agility, reflexes, and the ability to cling to walls. At first, he uses his powers selfishly but after Uncle Ben is tragically killed, Peter learns a painful lesson about responsibility.
Meanwhile, Dr. Connors experiments with reptile DNA to regrow his missing arm. The serum transforms him into the monstrous Lizard, who believes evolving humanity into reptilian creatures is the next step for survival.
As chaos spreads across New York City, Peter fully embraces his role as Spider-Man, stopping the Lizard and beginning his journey as a hero while also balancing his growing relationship with Gwen Stacy.
