Hara Chholiya Proso Millet Pulao Proso Millet – 1 cup (or barnyard, foxtail, kodo can be added by replacing proso) Wash and soak for 8 hours before cooking. Ghee – 5 teaspoons Jeera (Cumin Seeds) – 1–2 teaspoons, or as per taste Bay Leaves – 3 Green Cardamom (small) – 5–6 Cloves – 6–8 Onions (sliced) – 2 medium Ginger (julienne/shredded) – as much as you like Green Chillies (slit or slant cut) – as much as you like Chholiya (Fresh Green Chickpeas / Green Gram) – 1 cup (same cup as raw millet) Salt – as per taste Water – 4 cups (4 times the quantity of raw millet) Crispy brown fried onions – for topping the pulao METHOD: Wash and soak the millets for 8 hours. (This helps in better digestion, improves the structure of fibre, and enhances nutrition.) Heat the ghee and add cumin seeds. When the cumin crackles, add bay leaves, cardamom, and cloves. Stir for a few seconds, then add sliced onions and cook until they turn translucent (just transparent). Add ginger and green chillies, followed by chholiya, salt, and water. Simmer for about 20 minutes, then turn off the flame. Top with crispy brown onions and keep it covered for another 15 minutes. Episode 3- #mymilletrecipes Millet Bisibelebath - 📍Save it right away coz it’s a wholesome weight loss recipe😱 For this recipe I have used barnyard millet and its high in fibre and filled with zinc, iron, and calcium as well. So here is the recipe - Serves 4 🍲 - 3/4 cup millet and 3/4 cup Toor dal - veggies of choice: I used frozen as I had less time - sambar masala - tamarind purée - mustard seeds and asafetida - 1/2 cup coconut - Water 4 cups- adjust as per millet and dal measure ▶️ In a pressure cooker or instant pot - Add 4 tbspn oil - add the washed dal and millet and sauté for 5 mins ▶️ In a mixer grinder add sambar masala, coconut and half cup water and make a fine paste ▶️ Add veggies of choice and the masala ▶️ Add 1 tspn tamarind purée ▶️ add remaking water and set the instant pot for 12 mins pressure cook and if using pressure cooker 2-3 whistles ▶️ For tempering add 4 tbspn oil - mustard seeds, asafetida and pour over the bisibelebath and serve it with favorite raita Don’t forget to share your picture if you try this recipe!! #milletrecipes #millets #milletsofindia #bisibelebath #weightlosss #banagalorespecial #weightlossjourney #weightlossrecipes
