FUI went to the newly opened Wagyu Factory in Brea, and here’s how it went! If you didn’t know, this is Chubby Cattle’s first ever fully self-serve BBQ restaurant. Instead of ordering from iPads or servers, everything is AYCE buffet style.
It’s also one of their more affordable locations, with lunch starting as low as $34.99. The buffet stations include marinated and non-marinated wagyu, lamb, pork, and plenty of veggies. There’s also a fried food station with fried rice, udon, takoyaki, and more. One thing I thought was really cool was the dim sum station, which I’ve never seen at a BBQ buffet before, they even had lobster dumplings.
There’s also a sushi station where I personally loved the seared salmon with spicy mayo, plus a smaller station with wagyu burgers, lobster rolls, and wagyu tacos.
Overall, I’d say the meat quality is slightly lower compared to Chubby Cattle, but the trade-off is that it’s more affordable and casual, which makes it a great option if you’re not trying to spend too much.
