MYWhat if I told you there's a Pokemon whose eyes tell the story of everything it lost?
Look at Paras. Really look at it. Big, round, curious eyes full of life. Two tiny mushrooms on its back. It doesn't know yet. It can't know.
Because when Paras evolves into Parasect, something devastating happens.
Those bright eyes go completely white. Blank. Empty.
The Pokedex doesn't sugarcoat it. It says the bug is mostly dead. The mushroom has taken over. It does all the thinking now. And here's the part that haunts me. If you remove the mushroom from Parasect's back, the bug just... stops moving entirely.
But here's what nobody talks about.
Parasect never had a choice. The mushrooms were already there when it hatched. Spores from its own parent, spread onto its egg before it ever took its first breath. This wasn't an invasion. This was inheritance.
An entire species, born into a fate they never asked for. Growing up, not knowing that growing up means losing yourself.
And yet... Parasect keeps going. It builds a life in the dark. It finds others like itself. It does what it can with what it was given.
Maybe that's not tragedy. Maybe that's the most heartbreaking kind of strength.
