They’re just being kids and have no idea. Mom thought it was funny and innocent. Dad saw it differently. Not because he’s dramatic…but because he’s protective. Kids don’t always understand how certain things can be perceived ( by predators) and as parents it’s our job to think ahead. It’s not about shaming. It’s about protecting. That’s a protective dad’s instinct. ❤️ #blasianfamily #dadreaction #kidsreact #girldad #parenthood

As a dad it is a cool feeling when your little person wants to be like you. When they try to make you proud the same way you once tried to make your parents proud. Watching Hendrix study me is hilarious. I was never this observant at his age. He will watch me for thirty seconds and then try his own toddler version like he has been doing it forever. It reminds me that our kids learn by watching us, not just by what we tell them. They need us present to show them how to handle the world in sports, in life, and in love. They cannot learn that if we are not around. They need proof, not promises. So to the men and the women, be active and be present. Show up. Be the example that teaches them how to stand in the world. Parents often believe that very young children “don’t understand much,” but the truth is quite the opposite. Even at 2–3 years old, a child’s brain is like a sponge, constantly observing, absorbing, and learning from everything they see and hear. They may not be able to express it in words, but their brain is actively storing these experiences. At this age, the brain is still developing and cannot clearly differentiate between real and imaginary. When a child watches a violent movie like Dhrundhar 2, the brain processes those intense scenes as something real. This can activate their fear system (amygdala), making them feel unsafe, anxious, or disturbed without understanding why. Over time, repeated exposure can affect their emotional development. Long and intense content, like a 4-hour violent film, is especially overwhelming for such a young brain. It can lead to restlessness, disturbed sleep, aggression, or even withdrawal. Children may start imitating what they see because their learning happens through observation, not logic. As parents, being mindful of what your child watches is not just a small choice it shapes how their brain grows. Protecting them from such exposure is not about restriction, but about giving their mind the safe, healthy environment it needs to develop emotionally and psychologically in the right way. #reels #psychology #movie #dhurandhar

When a baby starts walking, the bedroom needs to be rethought urgently. A high or traditional bed can be a real risk, especially during the night, when the room is dark and parents’ bodies are still waking up. That’s why I always recommend that families who don’t use a crib choose a floor bed: it gives the baby independence without compromising safety. Another option is to use bed rails to prevent falls. In some cases, even a warm-colored night light can help the child orient themselves in the room and avoid accidents. And remember: during the night, our reaction time is slower. A prepared environment is what protects the child, even when we are still waking up. Follow @sleepsquadbynanda for daily neuroscience-based child sleep content.

A large study of 20,000 families found that families with a 5–6 year age gap tend to be happier, healthier, and more stable in the long run. For years, parents were encouraged to “get it over with” close age gaps, shared baby routines, one long exhausting phase. But long-term data tells a different story. Reason #1: Full recovery physically & mentally Pregnancy 1–2 years after birth often happens before the body has fully recovered. Nutrient depletion, hormonal imbalance, chronic exhaustion. A second pregnancy at that stage takes from already empty reserves. Higher stress, harder recovery, and a significantly increased risk of postpartum depression. After 5–6 years, the body is restored. Hormones stabilize. Mental health improves. The second pregnancy is often experienced as much easier. Reason #2: The first child gets full emotional investment The first five years are critical for emotional and psychological development. When a child receives consistent attention during this stage, they tend to grow up more secure, confident, and emotionally regulated. When a second baby arrives too early, the parent is split and both children get less than they need. Reason #3: The older child becomes a helper, not a competitor. At 5–6 years old, a child understands what a baby is. They can help, empathize, participate. This builds responsibility and care, not jealousy. With a 2–3 year gap, the older child is still very young often leading to regression, jealousy, and emotional stress. Reason #4: Financial stability A larger gap allows parents — especially mothers to return to work, rebuild income and regain professional confidence. Two back-to-back parental leaves often mean years without career growth and increased financial dependence. With a 5–6 year gap, the family is usually more financially secure by the time the second child arrive The rest is in the comments 👇
