Nexlink on the ARX8 allows me to cycle power, change rf power, change frequency, and more, all remotely from the mixer. Paired with a set of Sound Devices 3.7v batteries, this transmitter can get you from calltime to lunch without the need to change batteries (Unless you're wild and using 40mW all morning). I love the sound of Astral Wireless. At the core is the SSL Xdesk with Lynx Aurora AD/DA converters that allow me to integrate my Manley, Neve and ADesigns outboard gear. I've been working in this way for 12 years and while each project will dictate whether I mix with outboard analog gear, include outboard gear digitally or completely keep it in the box - having the options (I feel) will give the project what it needs. Calls of "MOS" are from a bygone era of film cameras making noise at high speed, inability of post to re-speed picture & sound, 12 minute rolls of quarter inch tape on Nagras, and people who know nothing about sound calling "MOS" because there's no dialogue forgetting that every effect that isn't recorded needs to be re-recorded or re-built in post!
