CIFor the longest time, Stranger Things fans were absolutely convinced Eddie was coming back as Kas in Season 5. And honestly, they weren’t being completely delusional for fun. Eddie Munson “dies” surrounded by bats, in the Upside Down, after a guitar solo that felt way too mythic to be random. Enter Kas, a vampire warrior from D&D lore who dies, comes back, and turns on Vecna. The parallels were screaming. Fans connected the dots, drew the art, wrote essays, and emotionally resurrected him weeks after his funeral. It became less of a theory and more of a coping mechanism. Because when a character is that loved, people don’t accept death. They negotiate with lore instead.

In Stranger Things Season 5, Vecna’s next move may not be about power or revenge, but precision and that makes Mike Wheeler the most dangerous target. Unlike previous victims, Mike doesn’t carry visible trauma; instead, he carries quiet guilt. He believes he failed Will emotionally, fears losing Eleven, and feels the crushing weight of being the group’s leader without having the power to truly protect anyone. Vecna thrives on exactly this kind of hidden suffering, the pain people never speak out loud.
What makes Mike especially vulnerable is his position as the emotional core of the group. He connects everyone. Eleven’s strength, Will’s sensitivity, Dustin’s hope, and Lucas’s courage. If Vecna breaks Mike, he doesn’t just hurt one person; he destabilizes the entire group from the inside.
