Why do so many people (especially Women) undercharge for their product/service? I really believe this is linked to one’s own self-confidence. We think by undercharging for our products it will help sell more, but that’s not always the case. If you don’t charge enough for your product, and have healthy margins you won’t have a sustainable business long term. But from the consumers point of view, there is really a think about ‘perceived value’. Advertising expert, Rory Sutherland talks a lot about this and also the benefit of being a specialist in a certain field, allows you to charge a higher price point. Buy charging enough it also allows you to add promotions, deal with uncertainties and avoid having to increase prices once already in the market.
