🚇 London Underground This was my second time on the Underground in London. It’s way too complicated for me. Compared to the systems in Bangkok, Singapore, and Dubai, the lines feel much more confusing and harder to follow, but then they’ve had 163 years to expand and develop it… Maybe I’d need to ride it a thousand times, or live in London to really understand it. Overall, it was still a great experience. The trip was amazing, and I’d definitely take the Underground again next time.

✨ Here’s everything you need to know. London’s underground transportation system, aka “the tube,” is easy to use. It’s relatively nice and clean and can get you anywhere in the city in a short amount of time. Here are the most important things you should know before riding: 1. Tap your phone when entering This will allow you to use Apple or Google Pay to pay. You can also use your actual card or an Oyster card to pay. These are the easiest and cheapest ways to ride. 2. Always tap in AND tap out Forgetting to tap out can result in a high fine. 3. Stand on the right, walk on the left On escalators, stand on the right so locals can walk on the left. This is a big deal (the judgement one 😜)! 4. Mind the gap You’ll hear this phrase often. Some platforms have a larger gap between the train and platform, so watch your step. 5. Tube lines are color-coded, not numbered For example, the Central line is red, the Piccadilly line is dark blue, etc. To find the correct train, find the correct line and platform (more in #10). 6. Avoid busy peak hours Peak times are from about 6:30–9:30 AM and 4:00–7:00 PM on weekdays. 7. Watch closing times Some lines run overnight on Fridays and Saturdays, but most close around midnight. 8. Let people off before getting on This is a big etiquette rule. Stand to the side of the doors and wait. 9. Some trains have no air-conditioning Most have ac, but some don’t, so dress accordingly. 10. Google Maps works very well for navigating the tube It’s my preferred map. It tells you exactly which line, direction, and platform to look for. Now here’s everything you need to know about packing for your trip! affordable travel | travel tips | pack light

London Tube hacks that actually save you time 🚇 If you’re visiting London, these London Underground tips will help you avoid delays, crowds and tourist mistakes. Comment LONDON UNDERGROUND and I’ll send this guide straight to your inbox for ease! Save this before your trip. Here are some London Tube hacks that make getting around London faster: 🚇 Stand on the right, walk on the left On escalators across the Tube (especially at @waterloostation and @stpancrasinternational), always stand on the right side. The left is for walking. 📱 Use contactless instead of buying tickets The fastest way to travel is tapping your contactless card or Apple Pay. No queues, no paper tickets, and daily fare caps automatically apply via @transportforlondon 🚞 Avoid rush hour if you can Peak hours (7:30–9:30am and 4:30–6:30pm) can double journey times. Sightseeing is much easier mid-morning or early afternoon. 🗺️ Walk between very close stations Some stations are closer than they appear on the map. It’s often quicker to walk between @discoverlsq and @coventgardenldn than take the Tube. 📱 Use Citymapper for the fastest routes Apps like @citymapper show live disruptions, fastest routes and platform exits so you don’t waste time navigating the network. 🚶‍♀️ Try nearby stations to avoid crowds Busy areas like @oxfordstreetw1 or Piccadilly Circus can be chaotic. Stations like Tottenham Court Road, Bond Street or Green Park are often quicker. Save this for your London trip 🇬🇧 These London Underground travel tips will genuinely save you time while exploring the city. #LondonTube #LondonTravelTips #VisitLondon #LondonUnderground #LondonTravelGuide
