One of the biggest problems is see pet photographers have is getting an evenly lit backdrop. What you need is a large light source like the 7ft umbrella from @westcottlighting. Octaboxes and beauty dishes are too small relative to your backdrop and can’t light it evenly. The 7ft umbrella with diffusion is less than $200 which is a tremendous value! I use the silver interior. Not only will the 7ft umbrella light your backdrop evenly, but it will also provide wonderful soft lighting on your subject.
