Beans beans the more you eat the more you toot… well not necessarily 😎👇 If you boil red kidney beans for 5 minutes before putting them in your meal then you significantly lower the carbohydrates in beans that make you gassy. (The carbs get extracted from the beans into the water, so throw the water away) This is particularly great if you have a sensitive stomach or IBS! I’ve got IBS and can’t eat red kidney beans when they are added straight from the can but I am able to eat them if I boil them first. #ibs #guthealth #health #nutrition #lowfodmap #nutritiontips #beans

Check signs in our App! 2️⃣ Nutritionally, green beans are an excellent source of vitamin K—a nutrient that plays a key role in blood clotting—as well as vitamins A and C. 3️⃣ Green beans can be a choking hazard, as the cylindrical shape and size is similar to the trachea at this early stage in life. To minimize the risk, offer a whole, cooked string / green bean to munch on, or cut cooked bite-sized pieces lengthwise so they are no longer round. 4️⃣ Allergies to green beans are rare, but possible. By age: ➡️ 6 mos+: Offer whole, uncut, cooked green beans. At this age, whole bean pods may be safer for babies than green beans but into bite-sized pieces, which can accidentally be swallowed whole. ➡️ 12 mos+: Offer bite-size pieces of cooked green beans. Ingredients: 1 lb red beans  White onion, diced Green bell pepper, diced Celery stalks, diced Garlic cloves Bay leaves Distilled water  Liquid smoke Worcestershire sauce Sea salt Black pepper All purpose seasoning  Pour 1 lb of red beans in a bowl. Sort out any old, dried or damaged beans. Rinse well and soak beans overnight. Pour your soaked red beans into a large pot and add in the chopped onions, bell peppers, celery, garlic, water, bay leaves, liquid smoke and worcestershire sauce.  The beans will take about an hour to cook if you soak overnight. They will take 3-4 hours if they don’t soak. Bring your ingredients up to a boil first. Then lower the temperature and put the lid on. Don’t put the lid on for the first 15 minutes. The water needs to evaporate some. Put the lid on for the last 45 minutes. Stir occasionally, as you don’t want any beans to burn and stick to the bottom of the pot. Add more water if needed.  I wait to season until my beans are almost ready. I find that adding the dried seasoning too early drowns out the flavor and then you have to keep adding more to compensate for loss of saltiness and flavor. So when my beans are tender to taste and almost to the creaminess level I want, I add in my dried seasonings and let them cook until perfectly creamy.  Then you just serve and enjoy! I served my red beans with Kornbread (cornbread without corn)and a Plant Based Sausage I made and slathered with BBQ sauce.  #veganredbeans #veganneworleans #neworleansvegan
