Sometimes I get fed up with this constant journey of self-discovery and growth. It’s exhausting, uncomfortable, and there are moments when I wish I could just walk away. But I know there’s no way back. Once you step into this process-this deep, messy work of becoming-you can’t unknow what you’ve uncovered about yourself. After an intense weekend, another step in my two-year journey to becoming a psychotherapist, I found myself peeling back yet another layer, staring into another mirror held up to my face. And I couldn’t help but wonder, What have I gotten myself into? When it all feels like too much, I turn to breathwork. Rebirthing breathwork grounds me, regulates me. It’s my anchor. It’s the place where I stop thinking, stop analyzing, and let my body take over. It’s where I let go of the need for answers or solutions and just feel. The tremors, the grief, the release, it’s all part of it. In those moments, I remember why I’m here. To learn. To grow. To heal. Not just for others, but for myself. Because if I can sit with my own pain, maybe I can truly hold space for someone else’s.
