Prepared as per IS 456:2000 & IS 10262:2019 for easy reference and better planning. 👉 Ideal for preliminary estimates and site understanding. 🧠 Explanation This post presents commonly used thumb rules for construction estimation, useful for day-to-day site work: 🔹 Cement – Approximate cement requirement for RCC, brickwork, and plastering 🔹 Steel – Typical steel consumption for slabs, beams, columns, and overall buildings 🔹 Bricks – Brick quantity per cubic meter and per square foot of 9” wall 🔹 Concrete (M20) – Approximate quantities of cement, sand, and aggregate per 1 m³ 🔹 Painting – Paint coverage per litre for one coat 🔹 Electrical work – Approximate percentage of total building cost 📌 Note: These values are approximate thumb rules only.
