STOP ❌ this right now 👇🏻 1.Watching study YouTube videos instead of actually studying Feels productive but does NOTHING for your exam. 2.Rewriting notes again and again It looks neat… but your brain isn’t learning anything new. 3.Highlighting everything in the book This is fake productivity. Highlighting ≠ understanding. 4.Trying to study with your phone beside you Even if you don’t touch it, your brain is expecting notifications → reduced focus. 5.Studying in bed Your brain associates bed with sleep → you lose concentration. 6.Multitasking (music, snacks, chatting, studying) You actually switch tasks rapidly → lower retention and more mistakes. 7.Starting with easy topics to “feel good” You avoid the difficult material until it’s too late. 8.Leaving revision for the last week Even smart students forget everything without spaced revision. 9.Social media between study breaks 5 minutes becomes 30 minutes and kills your momentum. 10.Copying homework without understanding it You fool your teacher—and yourself. Study LESS, learn MORE. It’s not about cramming for hours—it’s about how you study. Here’s how to maximize your learning with less time: 🧠 Active Recall – Stop rereading. Quiz yourself instead. The more you struggle to remember, the stronger the memory gets. ✍️ Scribble Method – Use your non-dominant hand to doodle messy scribbles while studying. It keeps your brain engaged and improves retention. 📢 Feynman Technique – If you can’t teach it simply, you don’t understand it. Break it down as if you’re explaining it to a child. 💻 Second Brain – Organize your notes digitally so you can quickly find, review, and connect key concepts. It’s not about how long you study—it’s about how efficiently you learn.

If you struggle with effective studying, it’s not your fault. It most likely means you were not taught the right approach to studying. Here’s the difference between each student: ❌ 2.5 GPA: Brute-force memorization overloads your brain, so information never moves into long-term memory. This student will recognize concepts, but they won’t be able to apply them on the exam. ⚠️ 3.7 GPA: This student’s approach works better because they’re identifying weaknesses and practicing retrieval. BUT most students still mix reviewing with learning, which caps consistency. ✅ 4.0 GPA: The Cognitive Load strategy works because learning sticks when your brain isn’t overwhelmed. Here’s how to follow it: ———————— Day 7 – Map the test 🗺️ List every topic that could be tested and label each as weak, medium, or strong. Day 6 – Micro-recall 🧠 Quiz yourself on definitions, formulas, and core ideas using look-cover-say. Day 5 – Teach-back 🎙️ Explain each topic out loud in simple language until it makes sense without notes. Day 4 – Guided practice 🧩 Solve easy-to-medium problems with notes while explaining why each step works. Day 3 – Mixed practice 🔀 Practice mixed topics without notes to force retrieval and concept switching. Day 2 – Exam simulation ⏱️ Take a timed, no-notes practice set and immediately review every mistake. Day 1 – Lock-in & sleep 😴 Review only mistakes, stop studying by 7PM, and get a full eight hours of sleep. ———————— Comment STUDY and I’ll send my top study systems that helped me ace my Harvard classes 📚 #UltimateIvyLeagueGuide #UltimateMentor #UILG

Stop trying to write everything down. That’s exactly why you don’t remember anything. I used to think good students take a lot of notes. My notebook was full. My brain was empty. I studied 6–8 hours a day. My grades? Still average. Until I realized: I wasn’t learning. I was transcribing. Your brain is not a printer. If your pen is moving the whole class, your brain isn’t. Write less. Way less. Force yourself to listen. Force yourself to think. If you’re busy writing, you’re not processing. Learning happens in the head, not on paper. Close the laptop. Typing turns lectures into subtitles. Hand-draw messy connections instead. Arrows. Circles. Random links. It doesn’t have to look smart. It has to make sense to you. Preview before class. 20 minutes. Not to understand. Just to recognize. When the professor talks, your brain goes: “Oh I’ve seen this before.” And connections become effortless. You’re not a bad student. You were just using the wrong system. Once I changed this, my study time dropped in half, and my grades went up. Try this tomorrow. #study #school #uni

💯 C STUDENTS quit the moment studying gets hard while A+ STUDENTS lean into the struggle! Average students give up when they can’t remember something—top performers know that’s exactly when active recall builds the strongest memory. The discomfort of forcing your brain to retrieve difficult material is what separates exceptional from mediocre. Elite students embrace the mental challenge and use self-testing to turn weaknesses into strengths. Stop running from difficulty—use active recall to transform struggle into academic domination.

Study SMARTER, not harder or longer! ✅🏆💯👩🏽‍🎓 - The Hack? 📕 Active Recall + Spaced Repetition 📕 1️⃣ Revise or learn content through techniques that requires you to retrieve information when prompted, without reading/looking at your notes. Examples include: Flashcards, Blurting, Practice Questions. 2️⃣ Review this content at regular, increasing intervals. For example: Say you learn something in class that day. You would then review the content… —> when you get home from school —> again that weekend —> the weekend after —> in a fortnight —> in a month —> in 3 months. This combo is one of the most EFFICIENT ways to study, and will help you learn & remember content SO much faster, and for way longer too 🤓🤓🤓 - #studysmarter #studysmart #studyskills #studyhacks #studytips #student #studentlife #topscorer #goodgrades #topstudent #schoolmemes #schoolife #studentproblems #ATAR #VCE #HSC

The “1-Day 90% Club” uses Active Output. Here is exactly how to do it: 1️⃣ The “Triage” Phase (8:00 AM - 10:00 AM): Stop trying to learn everything. Open your syllabus and look at the learning objectives. If it’s not a core concept, skip it for now. Focus on the 20% of material that covers 80% of the exam. 2️⃣ The “Blurt” Method (10:00 AM - 2:00 PM): Read a topic for 15 minutes, close the book, and write down everything you remember in red pen. Open the book, see what you missed, and write that in blue pen. Your brain prioritizes the “blue” info because you’ve identified it as a gap. 3️⃣ The “Feynman” Polish (3:00 PM - 6:00 PM): Explain the hardest concept to a wall or a friend. If you trip over your words, you don’t understand it yet. Simplify it until a 10-year-old would get it. 4️⃣ The “Pre-Sleep” Recall (8:00 PM - 10:00 PM): Do high-yield practice questions. No notes allowed. This forces your brain to build the neural pathways needed for the real thing. 5 Tips for Exam Anxiety: ⬇️📄 1. Take deep cleansing breaths before your exam starts. I know it’s cheesy but this really does help. You can even close your eyes or do some small body movements to shake away the tension. I also like to sip a bit of water before the exam begins. 2. Don’t panic if there’s stuff you don’t know. I always like to say, if I’m spending more than 3 minutes on a problem and I can’t get started, come back to it. Just keep going and don’t let one thing you don’t know sabotage the rest of the exam. Don’t freeze, don’t stop, don’t give up. 3. Say positive affirmations to yourself as you take the exam. For example, I tell myself I am doing a good job, I’m going to do well, and I know what I’m doing. I repeat this to myself before and during the exam to stay confident. 4. Eat a little sugar before the exam. I used to eat a piece of chocolate right before my genetics exams. Not only was it a treat, but the bit of sugar helped me feel quickly energized. 5. Prepare as much as you can. Even if you end up doing badly on the exam, at least you’ll be able to say “I tried my best”. Try to be as prepared as possible, because that will boost your confidence and decrease anxiety. #examstress #examseason #exams #anxietysupport #anxietytips #anxietyhelp #studytips #studyhelp #studyhacks #studyhack #studyhabits #studyadvice #studyingtips #studyinghard #howtostudy #studywithme #studymotivation #studymode #studymood #studyingmotivation #studyspo #studyinspiration #studyinspo #productivitytips #productivityhabits #finalsweek #finalsseason #finalexams #finalexam
