India’s surveillance market is already worth billions and over 80% is now controlled by domestic players. But there’s a trade-off, moving away from Chinese components is pushing costs up by 15–20% in some segments. So this isn’t just policy, it’s a reset of how critical tech is sourced and built. And the real story is who wins when security starts outweighing cost.

CCTV CAMERA BANNED in India 🚨 Starting April 1, 2026, the Indian Government has enforced strict guidelines for internet-connected CCTV cameras. Due to non-compliance with STQC Certification and serious data sovereignty concerns, major Chinese brands like TP-Link, Hikvision, and Dahua have faced restrictions/bans. Our data belongs to our country. By using non-certified foreign hardware, we risk leaking sensitive information. It is time to transition to trusted Indian manufacturers who comply with MeitY’s security standards. Key Points to Remember: 🔹 STQC clearance is now mandatory for all connected cameras. 🔹 Protect your home and business with certified local brands. 🔹 Always check for the STQC mark before buying! Spread the word and help make India's digital landscape safer! 🇮🇳 #DigitalIndia #CCTVUpdate #SecurityAlert #GovtOfIndia #TechAwareness Disclaimer: This post is for educational and public awareness purposes only. The information provided is based on recent government policy updates regarding STQC certification and data security protocols. We do not intend to defame any specific brand but aim to encourage compliance with National Security guidelines issued by MeitY. Please consult official government gazettes for detailed technical regulations.

Chinese CCTVs to be banned from selling in India..! Starting April 1, 2026, India has effectively banned many Chinese-manufactured, internet-connected CCTV cameras—notably brands like #HikVision, #Dahua, and #TP_Link—by refusing to certify devices using Chinese components. This move strengthens data security by enforcing strict certification (STQC) against remote access vulnerabilities and encouraging local brands.. This video explains the reasons behind the ban on Chinese CCTV cameras in India :

India is set to tighten its grip and restrict several China-based companies from selling their CCTV cameras in the country. These changes are a part of the government’s broader push to strengthen national security and reduce cybersecurity threats in the country. They are set to come into effect across the country starting April 1, 2026. What’s happening? Starting April 1, all internet-connected CCTV cameras sold in India will have to get a clearance from the Ministry of Electronics and Communications’ Standardisation Testing and Quality Certification (STQC) framework. As a part of the new guidelines, companies selling internet-connected CCTV-cameras in India will have to disclose information regarding the key equipment used in CCTV cameras, including the origin of system-on-chip (SoC) or the processor. Media reports also suggest that the STQC framework will test CCTV cameras on various parameters including encryption technology, origin of the hardware used in the device, firmware, and resistance to tampering. In addition to this, internet-connected CCTV cameras will also be tested to check if their data can be accessed remotely. It is worth mentioning that even the devices that are assembled in India will have to undergo this testing and the products that fail to get clearance will not be legally allowed to be sold in India.

India bans chinese brand cctv cameras India isn't banning all CCTV cameras but is effectively blocking sales of internet-connected models from Chinese brands like Hikvision, Dahua, and TP-Link starting April 1, 2026, through strict STQC certification rules. These require disclosure of component origins (e.g., Chinese SoCs) and cybersecurity tests to prevent remote hacking. Security Risks The primary concern is national security: connected cameras can be remotely accessed, enabling unauthorized surveillance and data breaches by foreign entities. Incidents like potential spying via backdoors in Chinese hardware, similar to US bans, prompted this. Broader Goals It reduces reliance on Chinese tech, boosts local manufacturers (now dominating the market), and aligns with India's "trusted vendor" policy for critical infrastructure. Non-compliant products can't be sold or supported legally. #cctvcamera #trendingreels #viralreels #explorepage #instagood
