Video transcript: Have you heard of letterlocking? This lost art is a historical method to ensure privacy in one’s letters, and we’re going to make one today. Start off with a blank sheet of letter paper, or use a template that I illustrated myself, available on my Patreon. Fold the sides inward towards the centre, making them as even as possible. I use a ruler to flatten the folded edges. Next, fold it in half. We are going to be dividing it into quarters. Bring the bottom edge towards the centre fold, creating the first two quarters. Then bring the top towards the centre fold. This is the trickiest part: fold the top quarter towards the centre line, creating a point at the top. Mine is uneven, but it doesn’t matter too much. Lastly, fold the bottom three quarters up to the top, and fold the top quarter down, creating the envelope shape. And now you have your very own letter fold. You can seal it with a wax seal for extra security, or simple tie it with a ribbon.
