I’ve been getting lots of questions regarding single sided thread over on my subscription page, so let’s answer some here.
1. Why single vs. double? Single is definitely more seamless, I find especially when using it with wefts with a thinner spine (hand tied, infinity, genius) it looks almost invisible.
2. Is it as durable? From experience, yes. Just remember the way you start, anchor and finish is totally unique. You also have to take extra steps to ensure it’s not going to unravel.
3. Is it better for fine hair? It can be used on fine, medium or thick density hair. On fine hair it is especially useful, as anything to make my stitching look/feel flatter is always a plus on fine hair.
4. Do you still use double drawn? Yes! I typically reach for double drawn when working with volume wefts or flex wefts. That’s not to say you can’t use single, but remember you have to pivot your starting stitches and anchors.
