ORRemember Flat Eric? Back in 1999 the popular mascotte by @mroizo took the world by storm eith the videoclip for the classic banger "flat beat".
I distincitevly remember waiting for the video on rotation on MTV when I was a kid, as I found the puppet su funny; now as an adult I enjoy the music aswell.

HOFrench producer and DJ Quentin Dupieux, otherwise known as @mroiz, released Flat Beat on @laurent_garnier’s F Communications in 1999, and it went on to sell over 3 million copies across Europe.
The iconic official video was directed by Quentin and features Flat Eric… a puppet character he originally created for TV commercials, head banging to the music.
Quentin confirmed Flat Beat takes a sample from Put Your Love in My Tender Care by the Fatback Band, and the prominent bassline sound was created on a Korg MS-20, with the entire track written in just two hours.

ZEFlat Eric—if you were around in the late ‘90s, you know this guy. The yellow puppet with no mouth but all the attitude, created by Quentin Dupieux (a.k.a. Mr. Oizo) and originally meant to be called Stéphane. He blew up thanks to those legendary Levi’s Sta-Prest commercials and the Flat Beat music video, where he spent most of his time head-bobbing to dirty French electro while getting into absurd situations.
Dude was the ultimate slacker icon for a bit—cruising through life, always vibing, never saying a word. Now we just have the skateboarding guy and the cranberry juice..
But in this scene? Flat Eric ditches the office job, jumps on a motorcycle, and takes off like he’s in a ‘70s road movie wondering where that noice is coming from (we’ve all been there huh?). Maybe he thought he was Easy Rider, maybe he was just following the groove—who knows? All we do know is he wakes up in a prison cell, still nodding like nothing happened. No regrets. No explanation. Just vibes.
It’s funny, Flat Eric’s been through a lot over the years, but I hadn’t seen this instalment before today 😆 and I love me some weird humour.
