Sometimes I forget exactly how they are so I run the float test! It’s quite easy and has ALWAYS been accurate for me. You can also do this with store bought eggs or other birds eggs (ducks, quail etc). All you have to do is remember two things: 1️⃣ If it rapidly sinks to the bottom it’s still fresh-keep it! 2️⃣ If it floats, it’s filled with air and can no longer be consume- discard it! I sometimes get eggs that tilt upwards (starting to fill with air) so I either hard boil those or feed them back to my chickens. Those just need to be consumed soon since they are starting to go bad.
