Justin Thomas via: tt ~ dubmixes is one of the most technically complete players of his generation, built on elite ball-striking and shot shaping rather than pure power. A two-time PGA Championship winner and former world No. 1, Thomas has stacked multiple seasons averaging over 300 yards off the tee while ranking among the tour leaders in strokes gained approach, the stat most closely tied to winning. His best performances are defined by control under pressure, especially with irons, where he consistently attacks pins and separates himself late on Sundays. When JT is in rhythm, he turns courses into scoring opportunities through precision, tempo, and confidence rather than flash. #justinthomas #pgatour #golfperformance #ballstriking #golfanalysis

Most golfers accept back pain as part of the game. You ice it, take some ibuprofen, maybe skip a round. Then you go back out and do it again. Your instructor watches your swing and talks about your hip turn, your shoulder plane, your follow-through. Nobody talks about the fact that your lumbar spine is absorbing rotational forces it was never designed to handle. That’s not a swing problem. That’s a body problem. Back pain after golf almost always traces back to the same root cause — your hips and thoracic spine aren’t doing their job. When they don’t rotate properly, your lower back compensates. Every swing. Every hole. Eighteen times. I see this in my clinic weekly. I’m a non-surgical orthopedist and TPI-certified golf performance specialist. The fix isn’t rest. It’s not a different swing. It’s building the hip stability and thoracic mobility your body was supposed to bring to the course. Fix the foundation. The pain goes away. The swing gets better. In that order. If your hands go out, your swing is finished. Coming over the top sends the club outside, leading to slices, shanks, and weak contact. This usually happens because the hands move away from the body instead of working down in transition. The key is feeling the hands drop first while the body rotates. This shallows the club, puts you in a stronger position, and allows the clubface to deliver square with speed. Down first, then rotate. That is how you fix the path and clean up your strike. #GolfCoaching #GolfFitness #GolfTraining #GolfSwing #GolfPerformance

Distance isn’t about age. It’s about access. Hip internal rotation is the move that lets you load into your trail side on the backswing and clear into your lead side on the way down. No internal rotation, no load. No load, no power. Doesn’t matter how hard you swing. I’ve worked with 60-year-olds who pipe it 250 because their hips actually move. And I’ve worked with 30-year-olds stuck at 210 because theirs don’t. The difference isn’t the gym. It isn’t swing speed training. It isn’t a new driver. It’s whether your hips can do the one thing the swing demands. Most golfers lose internal rotation slowly, over years, and never know it’s gone until the distance disappears. By then they blame age. But the hips went first. Here’s the good news: it comes back. Faster than you’d think. Comment HIPS and I’ll send you the assessment I run with every golfer who walks into my office. Movement first. Swing second. Results follow. #golfperformance #golf #chicago #golfswing #golfr

👇🏻SEE WHICH PLAYERS USE THIS Want to train like the best players in the world? Start doing what they actually do. I’ve watched the workouts of top PGA Tour pros — Justin Thomas, Tommy Fleetwood, Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler — and this movement shows up again and again. The Bulgarian split squat with a low cable pull is a staple on Tour. Why? Because it directly mimics the golf swing as closely as you can get in the gym. • Single-leg strength like your lead leg in the downswing • Hip stability under load • Rotational control through tension • Core resisting rotation — just like at impact This isn’t random leg work. This is swing-specific strength. If it’s a staple for the PGA Tour… it should probably be in your program too. Luke Clanton swings over 120 mph. But the there’s a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes — into how he creates it. ✔️ Elite load into his back hip, huge pelvis turn/IR ✔️ Explosive upper body rotation/ fast arms to match ✔️ Incredible trunk control at full speed and stays in posture despite huge vertical GRF If you want more speed, then the easiest way to get there is to follow a three step formula: 1) work with a golf pro 2) build your foundation in the gym with an individualized program 3) get fitted clubs with your new speed Trained by @stallionfitness_ #GolfPerformance #GolfFitness #powergolfpt #SwingSpeed

Width with the driver isn’t just about looking good in your backswing — it’s about creating the space and structure needed to deliver maximum energy into the golf ball. When you maintain width, you give yourself room to build speed gradually instead of snatching it from the top. A wide arc increases the radius of your swing, which increases potential clubhead speed. More radius = more speed = more distance. But here’s the key: speed alone doesn’t matter if you can’t transfer energy efficiently. Energy moves from the ground → through your body → into your arms → through the handle → and finally into the clubhead. Your hands are the bridge. If they get overly active or “flippy,” you leak energy before it ever reaches the face. When you stay structured and move the handle with intention, you allow that stored energy to release at the right time — through impact. Think of it this way: Wide structure creates speed. Stable hands transfer speed. The handle delivers it. The clubhead finishes it. Train for width. Train for sequence. Train for energy transfer. Distance is a byproduct of efficiency. #GolfPerformance #DriverDistance #ClubheadSpeed GolfTips GolfSwing GroundForce EnergyTransfer PlayBetterGolf

While we are watching the 🐐 of long drive @golfzillazuback at @mytpi , who has honed his swing to maximize ground forces and speed, we can learn a few things about the importance of timing. Jason’s swing is massive and you see him nearly stand straight up in his backswing with his hands high and the club way past parallel. He does this to have as much time as possible to generate speed on his down swing. The ground force that has to start the sequence in transition is a push to the right which causes movement to the left laterally. Rotation comes next and even though he’s not on force plates, you can see his change of direction from his squat back upward is right around when his lead arm is parallel to the floor in his downswing. This means the movement that you see at that point was generated by a force before that point. This timing is difficult, and the vast majority of amateurs are late to start the transition sequence, and therefore miss out on the final vertical force occurring before we hit the ball. Until I got on the portable force plates from @smart2move and could immediately see when my vertical force occurred, I was late as well. #golfperformance #golfpower #golfspeed #Golfgroundforces #tpicertified
