3DGridfinity, you either love it or you hate it. My OCD is definitely in love with it. I love the Lego like organization, customization that comes form it. When I’m stressed or bored I make bins. It makes me happy when things have homes.

This is part of my bin organizer series and today I’m showing you how to cut your model inside the slicer so it actually LOCKS together — not just sits there pretending to fit.
I’m using **Bambu Studio**, but this works in any slicer:
🧩 Select model → Cut tool → Switch to *dovetail mode*
Now you can control the depth, width, and angle so the pieces interlock like they were meant to be together.
🔥 Pro tip: Cut at an ANGLE.
When parts lock at an angle, the bin becomes way more stable.
⚠️ Learn from my mistake:
Don’t cut too close to the edge or you’ll leave weak spots (yes… I did that 😅). It still works. Nobody sees it. But now you know.
💡 Want to save material?
Place your actual tools on the build plate first and size your bin around them. This alone can save hours of print time.
My settings:
– 7% infill (grid)
– 4 top layers
Clean. Strong. Efficient.
