Healing implies closure. An endpoint. A version of yourself that arrives intact. Berserk does not offer that. It shows what happens when damage becomes permanent and life continues anyway. Guts does not recover. Casca does not return to who she was. Nothing is restored to its original state. What changes is not the wound but the way it is carried. Berserk understands that some trauma does not resolve. It integrates. It reshapes posture. Sleep. Reaction time. The way trust is rationed. There is no moment where the past stops mattering. There are only moments where it stops controlling every decision. This is not healing. This is adaptation. Learning when to put the sword down without believing the world is suddenly safe. Learning how to stay present without expecting peace as a reward. Berserk rejects the fantasy that suffering leads to enlightenment. Pain does not make people wise. It makes them functional in damaged environments. Growth happens later in small choices. Who you stay with. What you refuse to become. How much humanity you are willing to keep when numbness would be easier. The story does not end with wholeness. It ends with continuation. And that is the point.
