A relationship is not revealed by how often you feel good. It is revealed in how you communicate and handle conflict. Regulation matters. The ability to steady yourself in the moment matters. The capacity to stay present when your body urges you to harden or withdraw matters. To see things from another’s lens matters. You will not always succeed. There will be moments where you react too quickly. Moments where pride speaks. Moments where you wound the person you love. The rituals looked different from place to place, but their purpose was the same. The boy didn’t grow into a man. He was broken open so the man inside could finally exist. And then…modern life removed all of that. In a single generation. The result isn’t men who skipped a step. It’s men who age without that crucial crack in themselves. Who carry a lifetime of untested, unfinished selves. One client said it like this: “I’ve been waiting my whole adult life to feel like I became something.
