Polis ilk başta “kişisel kaçış” ihtimali üzerinde durdu. Ta ki laboratuvardaki bir detaya kadar: Soğutma sistemlerinden biri kapatılmıştı. Bilinçli olarak. O sistem kapatıldığında deney sonuçları geri döndürülemez şekilde bozuluyordu.
Aylar sonra, aynı yönteme çok benzeyen bir teknik, yurtdışında bir şirketin patenti olarak ortaya çıktı.
Formül birebir değildi ama mantığı aynıydı. Patent başvurusunda imza atan isimlerden biri, yıllar önce Ankara’daki aynı laboratuvarda kısa süreli danışmanlık yapmış bir bilim insanıydı.
Interpol devreye girdi. Pasaport kayıtları incelendiğinde, kaybolan kimyagerin laboratuvardan çıktığı gece havaalanına gittiği ama uçağa binmediği ortaya çıktı.
Güvenlik kameralarında son kez, danışmanla konuşurken görülüyordu.
