As AI accelerators push toward 1,000 watts, we’re hitting a physical wall: Heat Density. Silicon simply can’t pull heat away from tiny 100°C+ junctions fast enough. The fix researchers are racing toward? Synthetic Diamond. Through a process called “phonon transport,” diamond’s carbon lattice moves heat faster than any other solid, with thermal conductivities over 13x higher than silicon.
