The air in the valley was thick with acrid smoke. Aston stood at the edge of the forest, watching the orange glow of a wildfire creeping up the ancient mountain. While others fled, Aston remembered the Great Golden Eagle that nested on the "Eagle’s Reach" cliff.
Without a second thought, he wrapped a wet cloth around his face and raced toward the heat.
