AMA no makeup day Skincare Routine 🥹 - Winter Friendly
I chose to do this video unfiltered so you all can see my skin in its most raw state. Here are some quick notes:
1. Paula’s Choice liquid Exfoliant - I use this once or twice a week, otherwise I’m using my toner by “ #TheOrdinary “ right after I cleanse (I DO NOT USE THEM BOTH TOGETHER)
I use a liquid Exfoliant because I find for me that the other ones irritate my skin and do not help with keeping my pores as unnoticeable and small.
2. Sunscreen - I follow up with sunscreen after my moisturizer, especially because the exfoliator recommends it

THI used to wake up at 5am to make sure I had time to put on a full face of makeup, curl my hair + “get ready”. I still wake early, but these days it’s to pray, read + enjoy a slow morning with my fiancé. Women are bombarded with impossibly high standards of beauty that no one can live up to + I’m here to tell you that true beauty starts on the inside. If your heart is full of love it will shine through your eyes and no amount of makeup can do that.
Here’s what happened when I stopped wearing makeup:
𖦹 I built true confidence. My brain had to readjust to seeing my bare face. Putting makeup on every single day signals to your brain that your face is flawed + you need to fix it. Your brain gets used to the makeup as the true version of yourself.
𖦹 My skin healed. Giving my skin room to breathe w/o harmful chemicals smothering it cleared up my skin + unclogged my pores.
𖦹 I became a minimalist. It’s not that I don’t love makeup but I’ve paired down to the necessities (0-3 products vs. 20+) and that carried over into my home, wardrobe, haircare + skincare.
A few things that helped me to release old beliefs about myself:
𖦹 I cut off toxic people. There were a few people in my own family who constantly pointed out my flaws, compared me to others and made me feel inferior no matter what I did or how many times I asked them to stop. This gave me so much anxiety and left deep wounds I had to heal but sometimes the hardest things can lead to the biggest blessings. Since ending those relationships, God has opened countless doors to healthy loving relationships that support me as I am.
𖦹 I set boundaries with media consumption. Since marketing is literally made to play on our insecurities, I limit my screen time and don’t mindlessly scroll. I unfollowed all accounts that made me feel bad about myself and I follow only accounts that intuitively make me feel GOOD.
