The Christmas Story. The story of the birth of Jesus - the greatest story ever told. But there’s more to this magnificent story than you may realize. There’s a prequel - a story before the story. It’s the story of a godly, elderly couple named Zacharias and Elizabeth, who were chosen to be the parents of the greatest of the Old Testament prophets, John the Baptist. This weekend, we begin a Christmas series and a new journey through the Gospel of Luke, called “Luke: The Gospel for Everyone.” Tomorrow, my message from Luke chapter 1 is titled: “Christmas: The Story Before the Story.”

Did I miss any? I’m not trying to say anything in particular, just as I’ve been reading prophetic scripture from the Old Testament, I thought it was interesting about this recurring theme of the chosen people falling… as we all do on a daily basis. Because of the New Covenant paid for with the blood of Jesus Christ, the chosen people of God are literally whoever says yes to accepting Jesus into their heart surrendering their life to the will of God. I also want to be clear that the religious spirit which is demonic and is not exclusive to one religion is against God’s love and will for us. No one particular group exclusively embodies the spirit of religion. “One demon inside the church can do more harm than a thousand demons outside the church” But we’re all (every single human) in reach of Gods grace and saving. This is not meant to put any certain group down. As I study the Bible, I find interesting things and wanted to share! Comment “community” to join my Bible study 📖✝️ #bible #jesus #christian #truth

Here’s WHY ⬇️ Save for later 🎀 Yes, Jesus was Jewish. He was born into a Jewish family, followed the Law, and lived under the Old Covenant. But Christianity isn’t about copying Jesus’ culture — it’s about following what Jesus accomplished. Judaism is waiting for the Messiah.Christianity believes the Messiah has already come. That’s the key difference. Jesus fulfilled the Law. The laws, sacrifices, and rituals in the Old Testament were meant to point people to Jesus. Once Jesus came, lived a sinless life, and died for our sins, those requirements were fulfilled. That’s why Christians don’t offer sacrifices or follow ceremonial laws anymore. We live under the New Covenant.Jesus established a new covenant through His death and resurrection. This changed our relationship with God: * From law to grace * From rituals to relationship * From trying to earn righteousness to receiving it by faith This was promised in the Old Testament itself (Jeremiah 31:31). You don’t have to be Jewish to follow Jesus. The early church clearly decided that Gentiles didn’t need to follow Jewish law to be saved (Acts 15). Salvation comes through faith in Christ — not through keeping the Law. Christian faith has Jewish roots, but it’s not Judaism. Our faith grew out of Judaism, but it doesn’t stop where Judaism stops. Judaism points forward to the Messiah. Christianity looks back and says: He has come. So Christians don’t practice Judaism because Jesus fulfilled what Judaism was preparing the world for.

Prostrating is maybe forgotten by the west, but it is biblical. 2 Chronicles 7:3 (Old Testament) “They knelt on the pavement with their faces to the ground, and they worshiped.” Revelation 7:11 (New Testament) “They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God.” #prayer #god #devotion #christian #christianity

The Hebrew word “ezer” (עֵזֶר), used in the Bible (Genesis 2:18, 20) to describe the woman created for the man, is often translated as “helper” or “helpmeet”. However, this translation can be misleading as it may imply a subordinate role for women. A more accurate understanding of “ezer” reveals a different and more powerful meaning: • Ezer as a Strong and Vital Aid: The word “ezer” doesn’t suggest inferiority or subservience. It describes someone who provides strength, rescue, and active support. In fact, the word “ezer” is used sixteen times in the Old Testament to refer to God as the helper of His people, a powerful rescuer and deliverer. • Kenegdo: A Corresponding Partner: In Genesis 2:18, “ezer” is coupled with the Hebrew word “kenegdo,” which signifies “corresponding to him,” “opposite to him,” or “suitable for him,” indicating an equal and complementary partnership. Therefore, the phrase “ezer kenegdo” implies a strong, equal, and indispensable companion, one who stands alongside the man as a powerful ally. • Not Subordinate, but Strong: The concept of “ezer” portrays women as capable, competent, and strong individuals, created to be a vital force, a necessary force of strength, aid, and leadership. This understanding challenges traditional interpretations that have diminished the role of women based on a limited understanding of “helper”. In essence, when God describes women as “ezer kenegdo,” He is highlighting their inherent strength, vital contribution, and equal partnership with men in fulfilling their shared purpose and responsibility.

A lot of people say they read the Bible fast and confidently… Meanwhile, I’m over here like: “Wait… who begat who? What’s a covenant? What even is a Leviticus??” 😂 Reading the Bible can feel overwhelming at first. And honestly, it took me a long time to stop feeling confused or discouraged. Here’s what helped: 1) The Bible Project (on YouTube): Their animations and summaries helped me actually understand what the Bible is as a whole, why certain books exist, how the stories connect, and what the point is. 2) I started with the New Testament. Not because the Old Testament doesn’t matter, but because the New Testament is where Jesus enters the picture, and that changed everything for me. It gave context, clarity, and helped me build faith before diving into the rest. 3) A Bible-based church. This was actually the last piece I found. And truthfully, churches were one of the main reasons I stayed away for years. But I finally found a Calvary-style church that walks through Scripture verse by verse, and it has been a game changer. They explain everything, encourage questions, and don’t water anything down. So if you’re struggling… you’re not alone. It’s okay to take your time. Ask questions. Use tools. Just don’t stop trying. Because once it clicks, it really does change everything. Which one are you?

Written across 1,500 years by more than 40 authors, the Bible is not a random collection of books but a single, coherent narrative. From Genesis to Revelation, Scripture speaks with one voice, revealing God’s plan to redeem humanity. The consistency and depth of this story are remarkable, especially given the vast span of time and cultures involved. What makes this unity even more striking is how deeply interconnected the text is. Themes planted early in Genesis resurface and find fulfillment later on. Promises, symbols, and patterns quietly echo across the centuries, all pointing toward Jesus Christ. The Old Testament prepares the way; the New Testament brings those hopes to completion. Reading the Bible with this in mind transforms everything. It stops feeling scattered and starts to feel intentional. Every book, every story, and every prophecy becomes part of a larger design—one story of redemption, authored ultimately by God Himself. Follow @saintly_vibes for more!

I’m not saying this to be edgy. And I’m not saying this out of anger, politics, or replacement theology caricatures. I’m saying it because Scripture itself forces the question. The Bible does not define “Israel” the way modern geopolitics does. From Genesis to Revelation, God’s covenant was never about ethnicity alone, but about faith, obedience, and relationship. Even in the Old Testament, not all who were physically Israel were truly Israel in God’s eyes. Paul says it plainly: “They are not all Israel who are of Israel.” (Romans 9:6) And again: “If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed.” (Galatians 3:29) The New Testament doesn’t cancel Israel — it expands it. The promises funnel through Jesus, not land borders. Through covenant, not DNA. Through faith, not nationality. That’s why Revelation doesn’t point us to a modern nation-state as the center of prophecy. It points us to Christ, His people, and the final conflict over worship and allegiance. This isn’t anti-Jewish. This isn’t anti-Israel. This is pro-Bible. God loves Jewish people. God loves Palestinians. God loves every nation. But prophecy is not driven by modern flags — it’s driven by faithfulness to Christ. That distinction matters… especially in the last days. “Here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.” (Revelation 14:12) Truth doesn’t need to shout. It just needs to be tested by Scripture. Save this for your own study Tired of misconceptions of the Bible?
