TW📮 Here it is! I found a shiny new digital postbox in the wild
Royal Mail is transforming thousands of traditional Pillar post boxes into new ‘digital postboxes’ ; replacing the cap with a plastic solar panel one, and offering a larger hatch for small parcels, meaning you can post parcels 24/7 in even more locations
If your local postbox is currently wrapped in black plastic (see my previous reel) , this this is what’s in your near future.
Some things to note.
💌 the box can NOT print labels; you buy them at home, print them, and take your parcel to the box.
📮 Apparently you can get proof of postage if you use the Royal Mail app.
💌 You can still post letters with normal stamps, no need to activate the hatch or scan a barcode.
