PAThe Golden in the Grey
The October rain in Alaska wasn’t just wet; it was bone-chilling, a precursor to the deep freeze of winter. Yamato, a Native Alaskan who had known these lands his entire life, pulled the collar of his heavy coat tighter as he exited the sliding doors of the Walmart. The sky was a bruised purple-grey, dumping sheets of freezing water onto the asphalt.
He was hurrying toward his truck when he saw a splash of color against the grey slush.
It was a Golden Retriever, tied haphazardly to the metal railing of a shopping cart return. The dog was soaked through, its once-fluffy coat plastered to its shivering ribs. Its head hung low, tail tucked between its legs, looking utterly defeated by the cold.
Yamato paused, scanning the parking lot. People rushed to their cars, heads down, ignoring the animal. The dog had clearly been there for a while; a puddle had formed around its paws.
"Hey there, brother," Yamato said softly, his voice low and calm. He ignored the rain soaking his own shoulders and crouched down.
The dog flinched, then lifted its head. Its big brown eyes were filled with confusion and misery. It didn't growl; instead, it let out a soft, heartbreaking whimper and leaned slightly toward Yamato’s warmth.
"They left you out here in this mess?" Yamato shook his head, a flash of anger rising in his chest at the carelessness of the owner. He checked the collar—no tag, just a frayed leash knotted tightly to the metal bar.
Yamato didn't wait another second. With nimble, calloused fingers, he undid the knot. "Come on. Not a moment longer."
He didn't make the dog walk. Yamato scooped the large animal up into his arms. The dog was heavy, smelling of wet fur and exhaust fumes, but he rested his head immediately against Yamato’s chest, shivering violently.
Yamato got him into the passenger seat of his truck and cranked the heater up to high. "You're safe now," he promised.
The drive to Yamato’s cabin was quiet, save for the rhythmic thumping of wipers and the dog's chattering teeth. When they arrived, Yamato ushered the dog inside, where the wood stove was still holding heat from the morning.

PEDurante años se repite una idea:
que Jesús fue básicamente un precursor del socialismo.
Pero cuando uno compara lo que enseñó Jesús con lo que escribió Karl Marx, la narrativa empieza a romperse.
Marx explicó la historia como lucha de clases (The Communist Manifesto).
Jesús nunca habló de eso.
Marx llamó a derribar sistemas.
Jesús habló de transformar el corazón humano.
De hecho, en los Evangelios vemos algo que incomoda a muchos marxistas modernos:
Jesús pagó impuestos al imperio romano (Mateo 17:24-27).
Y dijo claramente:
“Den al César lo que es del César y a Dios lo que es de Dios.” (Mateo 22:21)
No llamó a la revolución política.
No organizó un movimiento para tomar el poder.
Entonces surge una pregunta incómoda:
Si Jesús era un revolucionario socialista…
¿por qué nunca llamó a derribar al Imperio romano?
Otra más:
Si el problema central era la riqueza…
¿por qué el Evangelio dice que mujeres con recursos financiaban su ministerio? (Lucas 8:1-3)
Pero atención:
Jesús tampoco encaja en la derecha económica.
Advirtió con dureza sobre el poder espiritual del dinero:
“Donde está tu tesoro, allí está tu corazón.” (Mateo 6:21)
Así que aquí está la pregunta que incomoda a todos:
¿Estamos leyendo realmente a Jesús…
o estamos reinterpretándolo para justificar nuestra ideología política?
Y para quienes dicen que Marx simplemente expresó lo que Jesús ya enseñaba:
¿Dónde habló Jesús de lucha de clases?
¿Dónde llamó a tomar el poder del Estado?
¿Dónde justificó odio entre grupos sociales?
Quizá el problema es que Jesús no cabe en ninguna ideología humana. Es intentar meter en una caja limitada a lo Ilimitado.
Marx ofrecía revolución del sistema.
Jesús ofrecía revolución del corazón.
Y esas dos cosas…
no son lo mismo.
