And it’s concerning, because we also know we’re not getting these stories from Irish folks and Norwegian folks here,” says O’Hara. But ICE says it is conducting “targeted” immigration enforcement. “Our officers are conducting targeted enforcement looking for the worst of the worst,” says Marcos Charles, the head of ICE’s deportation branch. But he says his officers have also been authorized to talk to anybody they encounter in the area where they’re operating “and establish citizenship.”
