Recursion is one of the core ideas in computer science: solving a big problem by breaking it into smaller versions of itself. A recursive function keeps reducing the task until it reaches a simple base case — the point where it stops calling itself. This approach shows up everywhere: searching nested folders, tree traversal, divide-and-conquer algorithms (like merge sort and quicksort), backtracking, and even math sequences like factorials and Fibonacci. Once you understand how recursion breaks problems down and rebuilds the solution from the bottom up, a huge part of CS, algorithms, and math suddenly clicks. #recursion #computerscience #bocchitherock

How to Become a Network Engineer in 3 Months Using Only Packet Tracer ⏱️🔌 Most people overcomplicate getting into network engineering… But the truth is, you can build job-ready skills in as little as 3 months using just Packet Tracer if you stay focused. Here’s how 👇 ✅ Packet Tracer Teaches the CORE Skills Routing, switching, VLANs, subnetting, trunking — the fundamentals that companies actually expect you to know. ✅ Hands-On > Theory You’re not just reading or watching videos. You’re configuring, breaking, fixing, and understanding networks — which is how real learning happens. ✅ Perfect for CCNA-Level Readiness Packet Tracer aligns perfectly with CCNA topics, making it ideal for beginners with zero experience. ✅ Consistency Beats Everything Daily labs + repetition for 3 months will put you ahead of most applicants who are just “studying.” You don’t need expensive gear. You don’t need 10 certs. You need focused skill-building and hands-on practice. 💬 Comment “network” and let’s get you where you need to be.

What is routed access, and should you be using it in your next network design? Routed access is a specific design model. When you use it right, it makes your network simpler, faster, and easier to scale. Traditionally, campus networks follow the 3 tier model: Access → Distribution → Core. Here, all the routing happens at the distribution layer. But in a routed access design, every access switch acts like a router. Each access switch has a Layer 3 interface pointing upstream to the rest of the network Instead of stretching VLANs across the entire campus, traffic gets routed hop by hop. Why would you use this? - It scales better (no massive Layer 2 domains) - Routing protocols converge faster than spanning tree - More boundaries makes troubleshooting cleaner When not to use it: • Small networks - it can be overkill • Legacy gear - not all switches handle full routing well • Centralized policies -sometimes you want the control at distribution. Routed access is less Layer 2. But it’s not one-size-fits-all. P.S. have you used routed access before? #networkengineer #tech #workingintech #stem
