Archaeological discoveries of lithophones span Asia, Africa, and Europe, with some dating back several millennia. These were not random rocks — many were deliberately shaped, tuned, and positioned, often found in ritual or ceremonial sites. Ancient cultures believed stone vibrations carried spiritual significance, using sound in religious ceremonies, communal gatherings, and sacred events long before written music or modern instruments existed.
