Everyone’s studying harder. But the smart ones? They’re using these unfair methods that actually make you remember everything faster. Try them once, and your grades won’t recover (in the best way). 1. Blurting Method: After studying a topic, close everything and write everything you remember on a blank page. Then check what you missed. It’s raw, uncomfortable, but insanely powerful for memory. 2. Reverse Learning: Instead of reading first, start by solving a question from that topic. When you can’t answer, then study. Your brain locks in the answer 5x faster because it searched for it first. 3. Feynman Technique (teach it dumb): Explain the topic as if you’re teaching your 10-year-old self. When you stutter or simplify wrong, that’s your weak spot. Fix that, and you’ll never forget it again. 4. Active Recall over Rereading: Stop reading the same page 10 times. Quiz yourself without looking. The struggle is what builds the memory. Comfort = forgetting, challenge = remembering. 5. One-Page Master Sheet: Condense every chapter into one messy, chaotic A4 keywords, arrows, mnemonics, tiny notes. It’s not pretty, but it’s your brain on paper. Keep adding to it till exams. If you want part 2, I’ll drop 10 more illegal hacks, comment “part 2”. Open your syllabus and look at the learning objectives. If it’s not a core concept, skip it for now. Focus on the 20% of material that covers 80% of the exam. 2️⃣ The “Blurt” Method (10:00 AM - 2:00 PM): Read a topic for 15 minutes, close the book, and write down everything you remember in red pen. Open the book, see what you missed, and write that in blue pen. Your brain prioritizes the “blue” info because you’ve identified it as a gap. 3️⃣ The “Feynman” Polish (3:00 PM - 6:00 PM): Explain the hardest concept to a wall or a friend. If you trip over your words, you don’t understand it yet. Simplify it until a 10-year-old would get it. 4️⃣ The “Pre-Sleep” Recall (8:00 PM - 10:00 PM): Do high-yield practice questions. No notes allowed. This forces your brain to build the neural pathways needed for the real thing. It’s difficult to identify how much time you need to spend to study each subject, so here’s my tip as someone who’s been through this: 🕒 Time Management: 1️⃣ Create a detailed weekly schedule. 2️⃣ Allocate specific time slots for each subject. 3️⃣ Prioritize tougher subjects during peak focus hours (think energy cycles!!) 4️⃣ Include short breaks to recharge. I prefer 15-20 minute naps. 📖 Study Tips: 5️⃣ Active Recall: Test your memory by quizzing yourself. 6️⃣ Summarize: Condense each subject’s key points. Taking concise notes on a single piece of paper may be helpful. 7️⃣ Visual Aids: Use diagrams and charts to visualize concepts. I like to use the whiteboard to draw it all out while I practice blurting. 8️⃣ Teach Others: Explain topics to reinforce understanding. I usually take turns with my study partner to teach the chapter on the whiteboard with the book closed in five minutes, making it as simple as possible. 🔗 Study Strategies: 9️⃣ Interleave: Mix subjects to enhance retention. Spend more time studying the toughest subject. 🔟 Set Goals: Define what you want to accomplish in each session. (For example: memorize key definitions in chapter 1) 1️⃣1️⃣ Group Study: Collaborate with peers for diverse perspectives. This is really helpful because everyone has different perspectives.
