That is a 30% fully saturated salt solution that keeps you floating like a cork! It’s even safe to fall asleep. Again, no effort required, just take a nap on the water! However, it became widely popular in Australia and the United States around the 1980s, and in the UK it only really started gaining popularity around 2010. Before that, it was more of a niche practice. Now, there are more and more floating centres across the UK But what exactly is floating?🩵 Floating therapy is designed to disconnect you from all external stimuli. Every day, no matter what you do, your body is constantly affected by gravity and surrounded by noise, light, and sensory input. Floating allows you to completely switch off from sound, light, and the outside world. Your muscles decompress, your joints relax, and you simply float effortlessly on water. Inside the tank there is about half a ton of Epsom salt, creating an extremely buoyant solution — so buoyant that you simply cannot sink. Regular floating helps calm and reset the nervous system. It’s a moment where, for an hour, you truly don’t have to think about anything. You feel safe and deeply relaxed. You step into the tank, close the lid, lie on the water, and gradually all sensations fade away.
