✅ Bulgarian Split Squat Setup & Form Tips (DO THIS!) 1. Setup: Sit on a bench and extend one leg straight out in front of you to determine the ideal placement for your front foot. Stand up, position your front foot where it was extended, and place the top of your back foot on the bench behind you. 2. Back Foot Placement: Rest the top of your back foot on the bench rather than balancing on your toes. This reduces strain and improves stability. 3. Leg Positioning: Avoid keeping your legs and feet in a perfectly parallel line. Instead, maintain a slight gap between them (hip-width apart) for better balance and control. 4. Body Angle for Quad Focus: Keep your torso upright during the movement to target your quads more effectively. 5. Body Angle for Glute Focus: Lean your torso slightly forward to shift more workload onto your glutes. Your quads will still remain actively engaged. 6. So much to say about this one… From check: Split Squats ✅ DO: Stand with feet in line with your hips, spread far enough to dip straight down without your front knee passing your toe. ❌ DONT: Stand like you’re on a tight rope or with your feet so close your knee goes over your toe. ✅ DO: Brace your core and keep your hips facing forward. ❌ DONT: Relax your core and rotate your hips to the side. ✅ DO: Engage your hips to keep knees in line with ankles. ❌ DONT: Let your knees move toward the center. ✅ DO: Keep a fairly upright posture with shoulders square. ❌ DONT: Bend your trunk forward or let your shoulders fall forward. ✅ DO: Lock your grip and arms in and squeeze your lats. ❌ DONT: Relax the arms, let them swing, or hold the dumbbells loosely. ✅ DO: Dip straight down and come straight back up. ❌ DONT: Dip forward over your front foot, rocking back and forth. ✅ DO: Push through your front heel, keeping it on the ground. ❌ DONT: Push through the ball of your front foot. ‼️And no half reps around here‼️ Do these the RIGHT way and it is a FULL body exercise.
