POWhat does widening do for you? (Shown here: @maveriklacrosse Tactik 3.0 w/ @stringking Typpe 5s + @nikelacrosse L4 w/ @ecdlax Hero 4.0)
I will say that widening a head is not for everyone. Just like most new things, not everyone will benefit. So let’s talk about who will benefit!
First, if you miss the wider heads that came out when X-spec became standard widening may be right up your alley. With all the advancements in mesh and stringing, wide heads no longer equate to no hold. What they will do for you is allow for much easier catching and handling in traffic.
Second, if you play BOX lacrosse but the head you like just isn’t quite wide enough for those quick passes and tight catches.
So in my opinion theres two styles of play that would benefit heavily from widening a head:
1- The crease FIELD attackman who needs a little extra width to assure you can snatch any assist coming your way.
2- Box player who likes to get the ball in and out of their stick as fast as possible.
My favorite heads to widen as of today:
- Nike L4
- Warrior Evo QX2-O
- STX Hammer 1k
- Maverik Tactik 3.0
