Project Objective: To create a compact and intelligent wearable safety device that can detect falls in real-time using motion sensors and on-device machine learning, and instantly alert caregivers or family members. How It Works: The MPU6050 sensor captures real-time motion and orientation data. A TinyML model, trained via Edge Impulse, distinguishes between normal activity and a fall event. The model runs directly on the ESP32 microcontroller, eliminating the need for constant cloud connectivity. When a fall is detected, the system can trigger an emergency alert via smartphone or app, allowing immediate response. Hardware Used: MPU6050 – Accelerometer and gyroscope ESP32 Microcontroller – TinyML-compatible, enables wireless alerts USB Cable, Jumper Wires, Battery, Breadboard, Power Supply Aligned With: Smart India Hackathon’s themes of wearable sensor-based safety, smart healthcare, and AIoT-based real-time monitoring.
